My print was modeled after the element Antimony, and its atomic number is 51, the element Antimony is sometimes found free in nature, but is usually obtained from the ores stibnite (Sb2S3) and valentinite (Sb2O3) Antimony was Founded by the Ancients, First named by Roman scholar Pliny ( A.D. 23-79), who called it stibium. My idea for my print came from my research that I have found on the element Antimony. I started out my print with several ideas that Antimony provided and gathered up information for my best choice. Ms. Hull was very kind about showing the class the proper ways to use the cutting utensils for our safety. I then started to gradually started cutting out my drawing that was traced onto the plate and worked my way around it to cut through. Since the plate was hard it was necessary to make it warm for a softer cutting process. I then cut my element out to look familiar to a box of matches. Since I've done an art experiment in my previous school I was used to using the same utensils that Ms. Hull provided the class. With great effort I choose to work hard on this project since it was familiar to me. First I sketched out 3 drawing of three different objects that represented my element. After that, I picked one that was the most similar and best out of all my drawing and traced that on wax paper. When I finished my final drawing on the wax paper, Ms. Hull provided a us with tools to cut it out in the shape of our element. I liked putting the paint on the plate because it was a challenge trying to make the best print out of all three prints. I would probably work better on my cutting of the plate because I think I kind of rushed with it because of the timing and it was hard trying to crave parts of the plate because some parts weren't soft enough.
